This is a print of an original digital watercolour style painting that I created to celebrate my daughters afro hair. This image was created in response to my 5 year old daughter telling me she couldn’t be a mermaid as she didn’t have straight hair. I wanted to show her and girls just like her they can be anything they believe.
Through my art, my desire is to create confidence in girls by providing positive representation and reflecting back to them their natural beauty.
25% of all profits from my art is donated to the Stephen Lawrence trust who work with young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to inspire and enable them to succeed in their choice of career.
